Mario Draghi, the president of the European Central Bank, is expected to use a press conference today to drop the strongest hint yet that the ECB could use quantitative easing if eurozone inflation continues to stagnate.His hope is that the mere suggestion of a vast financial asset-buying programme would boost faith in the economy and push up inflation, which slumped to 0.3% in August, according to Eurostat estimates published on Friday (29 August).
